Headset amplifiers are needed on most telephones that don't have a separate headset port. Thes amplifiers make the headset compatible with the telephone by using a compatability switch, volume and trasmit adjustments. There are a few versions of amplifiers. The basic 2-prong amplfier for 2-prong phones, the universal amplifier for all modular phones and the specialty amps that connect to the phone and computer at the same time so you can switch between the two devices.
